FONDANT - What is fondant??

It's a sugar dough that's rolled out and draped over a buttercream-iced cake which creates a porcelain-smooth finish. Fondant cakes can be tinted any color, pearlized, texturized, painted on, and piped on with icing. Fondant also keeps the cake moist and fresh. It has a somewhat marshmallow-like sweet taste.
