I was in New York for my final dress fitting at Kleinfeld's where I'd purchased an Amsale Blue Label gown when I was shopping with my fiance and sister and saw the designer's flagship store. I wanted to stop up to get a glimpse of what they were offering at the time. When I walked in I saw a some short dresses and remembered one I'd seen on their website. Though I did not have an appointment they were extremely helpful, went in the back, because the dress I had liked was not on the floor and found it for me. 20 minutes later, after having tried it on and ordering it we were on our way out the door with an adorable dress to dance in. The girls were really sweet and very helpful and the quality of the dresses were just above and beyond. The store was clean and easy to locate and the atmosphere made the decision to make a decision on a gown or dress very easy. I wasn't aware of the flagship store prior to going to Kleinfeld's but it was a softer and less 'busy' atmosphere and had I known for sure I wanted Amsale, may have gone there to begin with.

Amsale is a fantastic place to go dress shopping. It has a calm atmosphere and you somehow feel like you're the only bride there. It is a nice alternative to the Kleinfeld's of the world, where there is so much hustle and bustle. Her dresses are classic and elegant, but with the three designers under the Amsale brand, there are so many styles to choose from. Linda was fantastic to work with, and their alterations were perfect. I highly recommend making an appointment here!!

I'm a bride from Arizona that came to NY for an Amsale gown. Linda was my consultant and she was wonderful. Didn't pressure me at all, had the perfect balance of listening and providing feedback, and stayed positive even if I wasn't feeling the gown I was in. Dress was gorgeous! For out-of-town brides, they typically have you come for a few days in a row to get all the fittings in at once. Even though I had 4 days of fittings scheduled, we were done in 2! I was worried that the dress might wrinkle when it shipped out but they overnight it and I had no problems. Kori was great at responding to me with any questions I had and keeping me up-to-date on the gown and the shipment. Amsale isn't cheap but if you find the right one, the gowns are really priceless and I felt so beautiful on the day. THANKS LINDA AND AMSALE!

My dress was a Kenneth Pool from Amsale and it was gorgeous -- a real dream dress. All of my guests were blown away and kept commenting on it. In fact, all of the dresses at Amsale are so beautiful. As far as my experience with the flagship store, it had its ups and downs. My initial visit when I bought my dress was perfect. I forget who helped us, but she was very nice, let me try on about a million dresses, etc. The salon itself is gorgeous and just a very nice place to be.Our experience with alterations was overall good, though had some low points. The head seamstress is obviously very skilled at what she does and she was patient with us. I required 4 fittings though to get the dress right. At one point an applique was positioned crooked on the dress, which we had to convince her of, but once she realized she fixed it without any problems. That said, I was a little freaked out that something like that could even happen when you spend so much money on a dress! There were a few other things like a small stain we found on the dress at one of the fittings, but that was also fixed. In the end, the dress turned out beautifully. The only small thing was that the bust still seemed a bit loose (I could not raise my arms fully above my head without disastrous results and I had to pull the dress up on my body many times throughout the night), but that didn't show up in pictures or cause any huge problems. Otherwise, we had some slight issues with the veil, but a few phone calls and a conversation with a manager fixed that. So, overall I would recommend Amsale because you can get an absolutely beautiful dress there. I just would not go in with the expectation that everything will be perfect after that....it will be almost perfect, but not quite. :)

I went to the Amsale sample sale in November and found a great dress. It was a bit chaotic but then it is a sample sale... it was by appointment only and I got the 9am appt along with 20 other folks; I shared a dressing room with 5 people. Roula, who handled the alterations, was fabulous. I loved the simply classy nature of Amsale dresses. I wanted to get one of her short dresses to wear at the last hour of my wedding but I couldn't justify the cost. I loved my dress (and I'm not even that into wedding dresses). I highly recommend Amsale.

Emily (my consultant and manager) is fabulous and was able to help me find the right dress for my body type as well as helped with customizing the dress so that it became THE Dress. Raula (my alteration lady) was wonderful in making sure the dress fit me perfectly and made any adjustments that needed fixing. I even got a chance to meet the designer Amsale herself and she is so sweet. Word of advice, if you are from out of town, book all you alteration in advance because the weekend slots are extremely limited and not flexible. Her dresses is of top notch quality and the design is simple, modern and chic. Absolutely Gorgeous Dresses!!

The ladies at the flagship Amsale salon are fantastic. They made every effort to ensure my dress was on time for my early fittings. Samantha, the manager, is a delight & can truly work magic. Every time I entered the salon or called from FL, it was like speaking to one of my friends. And the seamstress there is great as well-- she came in on her day off to complete my fittings in time.

I cannot say enough good things about Amsale. My dress was beautiful and the service there is wonderful! The detail and quality were amazing and it fit perfectly in every way. You pay more for your dress here so if you are looking for a bargain, you will not find it there. It was worth every penny to me!

I had been searching for wedding dresses online for months so I had an idea of the kind of things I liked. I kept coming back to Amsale so I made an appointment at the flagship store. I really only went shopping at Amsale and at Saks Fifth Avenue. Both experiences were amazing, but I really loved my dress at Amsale that was actually a Kenneth Pool. It was more than I anticipated spending but the dress made me feel like a bride and it made me feel slim and sexy too. These dresses are exquisite pieces of work! Linda, who helped me so so wonderful and sweet. She was funny and patient and let me come back to the shop later on in the day after my appointment was over so I could think about the dress and try it on again. Rula who altered my dress was so sweet and helpful, but I wish my dress was a little more snug on the hips and chest. I kept having to lift my dress up, and when I look at the photos, my butt could have looked smaller if the dress was tighter, but overall, no one noticed but me because the dress was gorgeous.Don't waste your time at Kleinfeld - go to the Amsale (who is Ethiopian so she knows how to fit a real woman's body). It's really sweet to be trying on dresses and look across the way into FAO Schwartz and see the Barbie floor where young girls are dressing up just like us.

My mother and I went to the Amsale salon for a sample sale. It was so well executed-- the sale was by appointment only and the dresses were all neatly arranged by size. It wasn't hectic like other sample sales I've attended (e.g., the Filene's Running of the Brides). We had our own sales rep and dressing room, just as we would if we were shopping for a regular priced dress. There were some great deals out on the racks-- we eventually came across this dress that was in MINT condition, and was GORGEOUS. We negotiated the price down about 25%! It was a bit pricey for a sample sale but the dress was seriously in perfect condition, I dont think anyone even wore it once because there was netting still covering the beading on the dress. They were very helpful in getting us the dress for the right price-- it was a great deal, and from the previous season so it was still in style. It was gorgeous-- this sweetheart neckline tip of the shoudler ball gown with a deep v in the back, with beautiful Swaraovski crystal beading and metallic thread embroidery along the end of the train and on the bodice and waistline. I got tons of compliments on the dress at my wedding.

I feel in love with my dress the second I put it on... from the first time I stepped into the Amsale boutique the staff was friendly and helpful. Price can be very important when looking for a wedding dress b/c some can get extremely expensive (especially at a high end designer like Amsale), so I asked them not to let me try on anything above my budget range and they were nothing but accomodating. Once I purchased the dress, the fittings went smoothly and the seemstress was extremely talented. The dress was truely made for my body (she also gave her opinion on shoes and jewelry to help pick out the accessories).Beyond the dress, the staff was always helpful (providing contacts for shoe dyers, etc).

I got a beautiful Christos (Amsale's other brand) dress for $3900, which is definitely not cheap, but reasonable for designer gowns. The veil was about $300 which was also pretty reasonable. I worked with Linda, who was a pleasure to work with. Their dressmaker can be hired to bussle your dress at your wedding, and she is very good.

I purchased my dress at Amsale in NYC. The store itself is just beautiful and everyone there was incredibly helpful and easy to work with. Unfortunately, my bustle broke right after the ceremony so I ended up having to staple my dress to keep it off the floor. I called the store after this occurred and they were not all that sympathetic nor did they agree to refund any of my money. Although I was frustrated, I still loved my dress and glad I purchased it from Amsale.

I wore a Kenneth Pool dress which i bought from Amsale. I went for 4 fittings, and at the end the dress fit me perfectly. It was strapless, and i never had to adjust it the whole day. Roula worked with me during the fittings, and I also hired her to come to my wedding to help me dress for my ceremony and then bustle my dress for the reception.Roula was the most amazing person on my wedding day. Not only did she help me get dressed, she actually did some last minute sewing to my mom's dress. After my ceremony at Saint Bartholomew's we walked with the wedding party to Rockefeller Center to take pictures, and she helped me walk and carry my dress. By the time i got to the reception at the Rainbow Room, the bottom of my dress had dark grey dirt, atleast 3 inches worth on the bottom, Roula had me take my dress off, and hand cleaned the whole bottom of the dress before the cocktail hour.If you have a chance to work with Roula for you wedding, do it! Its 100% worth it.

The dress was beautiful. So beautiful in fact that I took off an entire day of work, twice, to drive the 4 hours to NYC to the flagship salon to do the alterations so that the dress would be perfect. Perfect it was not, I had nightmares about that dress the entire honeymoon. A week before the wedding the dress arrived from NYC, I paid the $125 shipping fee, so you can imagine the surprise when the dress not only shows up with black marks that snagged the entire 2 panels on the back of the dress, but a very poor alteration job on the bust (it was uneven where the dress had to be taken in) and the hem was incomplete. Amsale was very apologetic and promised to have a perfect dress to me no later than 2 days before the wedding. They did. It fell apart before dinner. The strap popped out of the secure little opening in the front of the dress that it should have been double tacked into but wasn’t after it was taken in by the seamstress (the Amsale seamstress that I paid $400). It was no surprise when later, the button covering snapped off the button in the back of the dress, but at that point, I was too upset to care. When I contacted the Amsale salon a representative informed me that “although she was very sorry this happened to me, I have to understand that Amsale cannot be with me to hold my hand all night and make sure that I am careful enough in my high-end designer gown and no, there was nothing that Amsale could do for me at that point, besides the gift certificate they sent for the cleaning of the gown”. Just to clarify, the gift certificate, that’s included as a perk after you purchase a dress from Amsale, not after they send you a ruined dress 7 days before your wedding and then your “perfect” dress falls apart during the toasts. Buyer beware – Amsale does not stand behind their work and it really is a shame because it was a beautiful dress.
