The Upper Crust

My husband and I celebrated our wedding reception on October 8, 2011. When we started looking for venues we knew we wanted to stay away from catering halls and hotels. We were essentially looking for a blank canvas and we found one in 91. Our first meeting with Dan sealed the deal. We didn't even bother looking for another venue/caterer. Working with Dan was a pleasure. Dan did such a wonderful job with the decor....it was truly unique and breathtaking. There were candles and orchids everywhere you looked and the room just sparkled. The flowers provided by Gerald at Seasons were beautiful The light up bar was such a hit and gave the decor an edge. Jim helped us put together a delicious menu that has people still talking. We knew it was going to be great but it turned out to be absolute perfection! Thanks Dan and Jim!

After visiting about 10 other venues that ran the gamut from hotels, lofts, a museum, a seaport, a performance space, a park, and a restaurant, my husband and I went back to the drawing board not having found the unique and intimate but spacious venue for our ceremony and reception. Then we stumbled across 91 the event space of The Upper Crust! It was perfect! The combination of wood floors, creamy walls and columns, exposed brick wall with vaulted arches, versatile lighting, and West Village/Meatpacking location that is a block from The High Line were an exact match. The flexibility of the loft like space enabled us to craft our wedding vision just like we had always dreamed. What an amazing space...even our guests noticed and commented about it to us afterwards! After choosing 91, my husband and I spoke with The Upper Crust about potentially being our cater for our wedding. The way that Jim listened to us about our ideas for the menu and how he spoke candidly about the food their chef whipped up was reassuring. He allowed us to add an extra appetizer item at no additional just so we could maintain the aesthetic of all the food together while still including all the dishes we wanted. They even worked with us on a family-recipe inclusion to pay homage to part of my culture. But OMG! We haven't even gotten to taste!!! The food was amazing! So many people commented on the abundance and quality of the food. And their bartending service was on point! I honestly don't even remember there ever being a line! And finally, we also used the design/decor services of The Upper Crust. Dan (the man) is incredibly talented. Having a background in architecture gives him an unusual perspective when he envisions an event space and always, from what I can tell, yields something special and unique. For all these reasons, we highly recommend The Upper Crust!

Dan and Jim at the Upper Crust are truly amazing. My wedding was pure magic. Everything was beautiful and elegant. The food and wait staff were incrediable. My family and guests are still talking about the wedding that was almost a year ago. Dan and Jim were very gracious and were very detailed in the planning to make our day truly amazing. I still look at the pictures and can't believe that was our wedding. The flowers were gorgeous and the ceremony music was perfect. I was not an easy client but Dan and Jim were paitent with me and took all my ideas and concerns to heart and reassured me that everything would be beautiful and it was. If you choose The Upper Crust you will not be dissapointed.

The upper crust is a top notch catering company. They provided great service and went out of their to make sure everything I requested was available. These people are like friends you wish you had all the time.

Our wedding was nearly 18 months ago and everyone is STILL talking about it. A recent family gathering people were commenting on the venue, food, atmosphere. The upper crust helped us provide all of that for our big day, it was fantastic. I highly recommend them for your wedding, parties -- days you want truly special!

The food they offer is amazing. A friend who recently got married recommended them to me. So now im passing that recommendation on to you. They are just simply amazing.

We went to the Upper Crust thinking it was just a catering company. Boy were we wrong. TUC assisted us with almost every aspect of the wedding. They immediately helped us find a venue for the ceremony and reception (Ramscale Studios)--it was exactly what we were looking for. Through several planning meetings at their office, we picked out a menu, decore, flowers and all those little details you don't know exist. They have a real knack for getting to know the type of party/event thhat you and your spouse want to create--they have big vision and incredible creativity. At times, this big vision can translate into a high cost, so we had to scale them back a big on budget but they were receptive. The space turned out beautiful--the staff helpful and our planner made sure everything was running smoothly and no detail went unnoticed (down to wiping down spills on the dance floor so no one would slip). Jim was our guy and man can he do weddings. Many people said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. I agree!
